    Course overview

    1 week technical training at GE Healthcare Institute in the USA. The course provides the level of knowledge required to perform initial troubleshooting and problem solving as well as the ability to sign collaboration agreements.

    This MRI course is for customers from the Nordic region. The aim of the course is to give hospital technicians basic knowledge of their MRI platforms so they can successfully carry out first-line corrective maintenance on their systems with the help of remote GE support. The course contains a theoretical description of the system components grouped according to function, together with suitable diagnostic methods. The theoretical lessons are interspersed with practical lab exercises.

    After the course you will be able to:

    • Describe and locate parts and components of the MRI system
    • Describe the basic functionality of the MRI
    • Explain all of the safety procedures that need to be followed
    • Navigate through all of the operational steps to run basic scans
    • Operate MRI for QA scan
    • Perform MRI power up procedures
    • Perform MRI system power down procedures
    • Perform emergency shutdown procedures
    • Perform required service procedures
    • Perform certain parts replacement tasks
    • Complete scheduled tasks within PM
    • Utilize the error log to troubleshoot MRI issues
    • Perform calibrations on the systems
